What should I bring?
Beach towels, sun screen, bug spray, flashlight, umbrella. Shoes or boots suitable for our hiking trails, some are rugged and rocky.
What are the check in/out times?
Check in is 4 pm on the arrival day and 11 am check out on the departure day. Early check-ins and late check-outs may be arranged in advance for check in at 12:00 noon for $50 and late check out until 3:00 p.m. for $50.
What do you accept for payment of my account?
We accept Canadian/US cash, certified cheques or travelers cheques, Visa, MasterCard, Interac Debit Card. We do not accept personal cheques except for deposit received 2 weeks in advance.
What taxes and service charges are added to my account?
All accounts subject to 13% HST Harmonized Sales Tax.
What happens if I have to cancel my reservation?
If written cancellation notice is received at least 21 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded minus a $50 administration fee.
As is the policy with most resorts, guest who cancel their reservation within 21 days of arrival or depart prior to their confirmed departure date will forfeit their deposit.
No credit for early departure, missed meals, late arrival.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, certain rooms are pet friendly. Fee applies. Must enquire first as only a few pets are allowed at a time and all must be registered.
We have rules for pets, please enquire. They may not be left in a room unattended or must be crated while alone. If they bark or create a disturbance you will be asked to leave without refund. You are also responsible for all and any damage to the room created by the dog. Dog must be kept on a leash at all times, you must pick up after the dog. Not allowed in public areas such as beach, pool, hot tub, picnic areas. Must have proof of vacinations and flea control. If they have an "accident" you will be charged for carpet shampoo clean up of room. Please keep pets of furniture, bring a bed and blanket.
How far is Westwind Inn from Toronto?
Buckhorn is 165 km ( 105 miles) from Toronto, a 90 minute drive.
Do all packages include meals?
Rates quoted on website include dinner and breakfast daily if stated. If you wish Bed & Breakfast only or room only that can be arranged. All dining is by reservation.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code in our dining room is casual resort wear (shoes and shirts).
Do I receive daily maid service?
Guests staying on one of our fully inclusive packages will receive daily maid service.
Do you have a single occupancy rate?
It is generally 50% - 80% higher than the double "per person" rate because they include the full price of the room, whereas the double occupancy rate includes only ½ the price of the room. We deduct the price of meals for the second person. Enquire about singles specials.
Is smoking allowed?
All guest rooms and balconies and decks and all indoor areas including the dining room are smoke free.
