A place where once your guests arrive they park their cars and do not have to get back in them until they leave. Also a place that is intimate so everyone would see each other all weekend, not just at the wedding. A place with lots to do to entertain the guests who traveled far.

Large groups may rent a marquee for our lakeside deck which is licenced for up to 153 guests but we don't usually accept wedding that large. It is nice & spacious for smaller weddings. Our Boathouse lounge provides an oak dance floor, brick fireplace & is surrounded by greenhouse windows with a panoramic lake view. Adjacent is our beautiful lakeside patio overlooking a lovely boardwalk where couples often exchange vows under the pines.

May
I had my wedding at Westwind on May 9, 2009. The people at westwind were very accommodating and helpful. They allowed us to have our wedding the way we wanted to, they accommodated our dietary requests (vegan/vegetarian food) and when it started to rain they helped to organize a wedding inside. The wedding planner was extremely helpful, was always one step ahead of us and assisted with anything that came up during the wedding. Our guests enjoyed the hot tub, paddle boats and paddle bikes. Everyone looked like they were having such a great time. I got lots of comments that they had a lot of fun on the lake. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a outdoor wedding with great scenery for pictures.
June
We could not be happier with Westwind Inn as the venue for our weekend-long wedding with our 70 guests. From the beauty of the surroundings, the accommodations, the high quality of the food and the personal attention from the staff, we felt the pride that Westwind Inn took in hosting our wedding. We were able to be the sole occupants of the resort and this really contributed to the intimate feeling of our celebration. There were many activities for our guests to enjoy or they could find a quiet place to read a book. The all enjoyed the chance for a weekend getaway and the staff at Westwind really helped create that atmosphere. We look forward to celebrating some anniversaries back at Westwind!
August
My husband and I were married beside the lake at the Westwind Inn on a sunny Saturday in August. I searched, and searched (and searched some more) for the perfect place for our wedding, and I found it at the Westwind Inn on the Lake.
My (now) husband and I were looking for an intimate inn/resort on a lake that was large enough to accommodate our guests, but small enough that we could take over the whole place. At 35 rooms, the Westwind was just the right size.
Another important factor for us was the food. We stayed at the Westwind twice before the wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our meals both times. The French onion soup is superb!
The location is extremely picturesque, with a gorgeous lake, colourful wildflowers, and a big deck large enough for a reception of 100 people.
There was plenty to keep our guests occupied - an outdoor hot tub, a pool, acres of trails, bikes, badminton, canoes, kayaks and even Canada's largest private art gallery next door.
We've received many, many complements on our venue choice. A beautiful setting, friendly service, cute cottage-y rooms, amazing meals, all for a somewhat reasonable price (for summertime in cottage country).
The resort sells itself as a quiet, non-smoking resort for adults, and that is exactly what it is. The Westwind Inn is a perfect getaway destination for couples looking to relax and enjoy themselves in a quaint and peaceto.org/";ful cottage-like setting. I'm looking forward to going back, because I was the bride, I didn't have nearly enough time to lounge by the pool.
Thanks to all of the team at the Westwind!

Wonderful natural setting for a romantic fun filled Wedding
We just celebrated our daughter's wedding on Sept 11, 2010. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating, the grounds prettier or the weather any better. There was a delicious barbeque served by the resort the night before the wedding followed by a bonfire that had us all laughing and singing into the wee hours of the morning. The wedding photos should be awesome. The natural relaxed setting blended perfectly with the wedding couples personalities. A tent covered the spacious deck (140 guests) but still allowed for an awesome view of the lake. The cosiness of the inn ensured everyone got to meet each other and the inns many activities kept everyone busy. Music, dancing, great food and memories to last a lifeto.org/"; time. Highly recommend that if you get invited to a wedding at the Westwind Inn make sure you stay there and make it a mini vacation!
October
My wife and I got married there last October and I have to say it was everything we hoped for and more. It was a wonderful romantic getaway at a secluded resort in cottage country that was both rustic and tranquil. It was also able to comfortably support a very large group of friends and family so they could all come and celebrate our wedding together and enjoy a little mini vacation for themselves as well.
My wife spent her childhood summers vacationing in the Kawartha lakes area and we both have always been avid outdoors people. We both really wanted to get married by the water as the leaves were changing colour in a scenic open wooded location. However we also really wanted an upscale place with all the comforts of a modern resort that could support a large group of friends and family, at various stages of mobility (elderly and children) without losing that sense of isolated intimacy of the wilderness. And Westwind completely delivered on both accounts.
We had looked all over the Kawartha lakes and fell in loveto.org/"; with Westwind. Not only did Westwind provide one of the more spectacular natural environments we had seen (We were married right on a sandy beach beside the lake nestled between tall pine trees and Canadian shield rock outcroppings). It provided us with all the amenities of a vacation resort without losing that back country charm of the area. All of our guests enjoyed taking advantage of various nature paths filled with plenty of panoramic views (with areas to relax in hammocks and muskoka chairs everywhere), canoes, water bikes, hot tub, swimming pool, spa, sauna, fine dining restaurant etc . Many stayed for the weekend some decided to stayed even longer.
The rooms were great with a fireplace, fridge, and couch in every one (our honeymoon suite was perfect, located in the smaller lodge away from the main building with a raised ceiling and private balcony overlooking the water allowing us to get away from the group whenever we wanted).
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, accommodating and alleviating any minor wedding day emergencies that popped up as well as of our last second changes or requests. They played a huge role in helping to keep the stress of myself and the bride down to a minimum the day of the wedding and were a huge part of creating such a great memory of the whole experience for the both of us and our guests.
Because of the size of our group we were able to rent out the whole place almost completely for the Friday and Saturday night and the resort prepared for us a fantastic Rehearsal dinner BBQ and bon fire by the water. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate that night but they adapted quickly by setting up a shelter and they had a boathouse lounge right beside the lake and fire for us so it turned out to be still a blast despite the rain.
The reception tent was decorated beautifully and Westwind did a great job organising the tables and setting everything up. The reception dinner was delicious as were all the meals we had there (we had the almond crusted chicken with the ceremony dinner and the dessert was cheesecake, both were incredible). Although the breakfast was nothing special for the price we found some great breakfast spots 15min away in Buckhorn and every dinner we had at Westwind was fantastic.
Afterwards our guests all commented on how much fun they had the whole weekend and how relaxed and enjoyable the whole experience was. Many of them saying they would be back for a weekend getaway on their own.
The whole experience was just tremendous and we are looking forward to going back on a regular bases to celebrate our anniversary. If you’re looking for place that feels private, isolated, with great panoramic views while still offering the amenities of a first class resort and with the room for a large group of people, this is the best spot in the area bar none.
