Pets
- Well behaved pets are welcome. Please enquire when reserving. $50 per dog per
night.
- For pet owners who plan to have lots of activities in hot weather there is a
wonderful new "4 Paws Pet Lodge" on the way here in Youngs Point about 15
minutes away. Fido will have his own air conditioned and heated room with a view. Regular
social time with the owners... food... walks or runs in a fenced yard... a vacation for
your pet! He will not be confined in a cage....and will be pampered same as home.
- Our family lives on the resort ... this is our home & we each have our own pets in
our residences! Our daughter Sara has a tiny very friendly little Lhasa Apso who
keeps her company in her office & goes home with her at night. Kristi (mom) also has 2
little Lhasa's and we live in a home at the opposite end of our property... you may
not even notice our dogs...we have lots of privacy & space on our 60 acres. Inga has a
new black Lab puppy... very friendly and on a leash.
Children
- Westwind is an adult oriented retreat. The inn is not suitable for children. Please
Enquire.
Smoking
- We do not allow smoking indoors including any public areas inside and also not
outside on balconies, decks, beach, golf green etc. But, smokers love it here also so we
have a smoking area far enough away from the inn to not affect non
smokers. Great for the person wishing to quit.
Note: groups such as conferences renting the entire resort, will
be allowed to smoke outdoors on decks just outside the conference rooms and on
their own room balcony if group leader requests.
Noise
- Silence please, between 11:00 p.m. & 8:00 a.m.
This means no other guest should be able to detect your tv, radio, disk player, jet tub,
your conversation or any other activities between those times. After a long day of fresh
air & invigorating sports, a good night sleep is appreciated by our typical guests.
Quiet
- Our guests expect peace and quiet at all times unless you have rented the entire inn as
a group. We are not suitable for night owls or party animals.(We lock up at night.)
This does not mean you cannot have fun and enjoy yourself! Couples meet & mingle ....
much joy, laughter & merriment ...around the pool and by the beach... by the fireplace
after dinner.. those who wish privacy and solitude will find it here also.
Grouches
- No cantankerous grouches allowed.
NO TIPPING POLICY
- Our staff are hired for non gratuitous positions, paid a competitive wage not relying on
tips. No one is paid a servers minimum wage. Westwind is a full service resort and our
dining room is open only a short time for breakfast & dinner ...not long enough for a
waitress to earn a living. Therefore our housekeepers serve meals & are paid the
housekeepers wage while doing so.. Everyone is responsible for making your stay memorable
& comfortable... staff behind the scenes....chefs, cooks, dishwashers, reservation
clerks, laundry staff, housekeepers maintenance persons, gardeners: a team effort .... not
just the waitress who serves you and often is the only person who receives a tip when
there is no service charge....and often only the last waitress finds the tip and not all
who served you throughout your stay... (food for thought!)

Outside Guests
- For Dinner:
By reservation a la carte
plus 15% service charge and taxes.
Grounds and facilities are for registered guests only.
If a registered guest wishes to invite a visitor to arrive before dinner a Day Guest
Charge of $100 will apply, including dinner. Visitor must report to front desk on arrival
& depart by 10:00 p.m. Please enquire with management BEFORE.
Bathroom amenities
- Many of our policies reflect our concern for protecting the environment. We supply
liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner in wall dispensers which we clean and refill.
We recycle. We have eliminated as much as 72 bars of hardly used soap + 72 wrappers
+ 72 small plastic bottles of shampoo per day...
- Hairdryers
- Please bring your own beach towel.
Phones
- We have 2 pay phones. One by lobby and one in parking lot. We are happy to take messages
for guests at 705-657-8095. After hours we are on answering machine. Most cell phones work
here. We have an emergency number for people to call for emergencies. Enquire, and we will
give you our private home number ... we live here and when the phone is on answering
machine we are sleeping.
