We have a new winery in Buckhorn! They have a vineyard and make their own lovely wines from local fresh fruit and berries. Plum wine, strawberry, pumpkin, peach, apricot, pear, apple,blueberry, maple syrup...just to name a few.. ... and dry dinner wines as well. Kawartha Country Wines (fruit wines) are vinted to four sweetness levels - dry, off dry, semi-sweet and dessert - in order to satisfy every taste and wine occasion.
Vidal Ice Wine - intense flavour, rich bouquet of apricot and peaches, well balanced with good acidity, very long finish, served chilled on its own after dinner.
Maple Syrup Wine - a unique presentation of Kawartha Country Wines, rich maple syrup nose and flavour, well balanced, luscious and full bodied, truly exciting and very special - a truly unique Canadian product. A New Massage Room!
Mosquitos & Black Flies: *We have a large commercial size mosquito magnet. We used the magnet last year & harvested tons.. (small exageration) of dead mosquitos & black flies so there are fewer to start with this year and have not been a problem. Guests say they have not been bothered at all. (except in the back woods). It must work because the bugs at our cottage 20 minutes north are unbearable..
