Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for considering us for your special day! Westwind is just north of Peterborough in the heart of the Kawartha lakes Region. We offer a romantic lakeside location with breathtaking surroundings for a relaxed yet stylish celebration. If you are considering eloping this package is for you! Available mid week, Sundays or weekends off season.... or summer if available last minute a month or 2 away.

We can offer both low cost self serve option or a full service package including officiant, ceremony location, chairs for registered guests, signing table, 2 witnesses and a small bouquet of flowers for $1000 plus your accommodation charges and tax. If you prefer to take care of all these arrangements yourself only your accommodation charges will apply and there will be no charge for the ceremony location. If you go with this self serve options please be sure to advise the front desk of your plans and where to direct your officiant upon arrival. If necessary witnesses are available with 14 days advance notice at $50 each.

CEREMONY--We provide full service set up including chairs and signing table for up to 20 guests at $200, an additional charge of $10 per person will apply for over 20 guests. There is no additional charge for standing ceremonies in any outdoor location. You may wish to book one of the local churches if you prefer an indoor ceremony or as the “rainy day plan”. Alternatively you may wish to book a marquee for a lawn area to ensure the ceremony will continue outdoors in the event of rain or you may use our lobby as an indoor option. You may have your ceremony on site any time after 4 pm. TIP-ask guests to bring an umberella in the event of light rain.

GUESTS-- Other than the above no additional charges will apply to registered hotel guests who wish to attend the ceremony. Up to 18 guests who are not staying at the inn may attend your ceremony for an additional fee of $50 per person. If you have selected our full service package or these guests are joining us for dinner we can reduce this rate to $25 per person.

ACCOMMODATION— You may select any of our room types. See our rates page for options. Please call reservations at 1800 387 8100 for additional information or to reserve your space.

FOOD AND DRINKS— Groups with 10 or more guests can select their menu from our special events menu. Groups with under 10 guests can order a la carte.
A 15% Group Administtration fee will be added to all charges. Wine is available from our wine list. Drinks will be served at the table. Preselecting your wine is helpful. We have a Host Bar special price so there are no surprises.

BONFIRE—We have a great firepit by the beach you are welcome to enjoy for quiet gatherings to 11 pm. If you plan for a later evening gathering we have another firepit in our activities field that you may enjoy til the wee hours without interrupting other resort guests. Firewood is available at $8 per bag + $25 delivery or you are welcome to pick it up on your own at the local Home Hardware. 30 days notice is required if you wish us to handle this for you. Glass is not permitted anywhere outside of dining room or bedrooms. An extra cleaning fee may apply if your guests do not pick up after themselves. You may wish to ask guests to bring collapsible chairs for around the fire. We do provide picnic tables and seating for food consumption.

Deposit, Payments, terms and policies

1. $150 per room per night is required to reserve accommodations. If you wish to reserve our full service package we will require a deposit of $500 plus any room deposits. Otherwise we will require 50% of the full estimated costs at the time of booking with the balance due 60 days prior. All deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. We reserve the right to charge any outstanding balances to your credit card.

2. Guaranteed numbers, menu selections and itinerary must be finalized 45 days prior to event. Billing is based on guaranteed numbers or actual attendance whichever is greater.

3. We reserve the right to cancel any confirmed function that alters significantly in numbers.

4. With the exception of wedding cakes no food or beverage items are to be brought into Westwind Inn.

5. All rates are subject to 15% Resort Facility Group Fee & 13% HST.

6. Your signature at the bottom of each page signifies agreement and acknowledgment all terms and details provided throughout the contract. Please be sure to read each page carefully and that you agree to all terms before reserving.

7. Rates are subject to change without notice. Rates will not increase more than 5% each 12 month period. Any special arrangements in regards to pricing not included in this contract must be in writing and approved by Sara Jensen.

8. The organizer agrees to adhere to all scheduled times and begin the meal promptly at the scheduled time. The organizer is responsible for any extra costs incurred by any delay caused by the organizer or group member or for extending the scheduled departure.

9. Westwind is primarily a non smoking facility with specific smoking areas. For groups who request we will designate a additional smoking areas. Smoking in any other areas may result in a fine. As hosts you are responsible for all fines.

10. A surcharge may apply on holidays. There is a three night minimum during long weekends.

11. We are happy to offer a customized food tasting. Instead of building this into every package price we only charge those who wish to participate. Prices start at $75 per person for a three course meal consisting of soup or salad, entree, dessert and consultation with the chef. Reservations are required noting tasting requirements as the menu must be planned at least 14 days in advance.
